Integrating QM Usage Decisions in the Warehouse Monitor

This enhancement bridges the gap between SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Quality Management (QM). It empowers warehouse operators to trigger Quality Management Usage Decisions (UD) directly from the EWM Warehouse Management Monitor and automatically blocks Goods Issue (GI) if a delivery item is rejected.

The Business Challenge

In standard SAP, warehouse operations and quality checks live in two different worlds. If a worker needs to record a quality decision, they have to stop their work in EWM (/SCWM/MON) and switch over to complex ERP screens (QA32 or QA11).

This back-and-forth causes real problems:

• Time Wastage: Switching between systems delays shipments.
• Extra Training: Warehouse staff have to learn complicated QA screens just to do their basic tasks.

The Solution

• We fixed this by bringing the quality checks directly into the EWM Warehouse Monitor. Now, the warehouse team has a single screen to do everything.
• One-Click Decisions: Operators can now just click "Record Usage Decision" right inside the EWM Monitor. They select Accept ('A') or Reject ('R'), and the main ERP system updates instantly in the background.
• Automatic Shipping Block: If an item is rejected, it cannot be shipped. We built a safety net that automatically blocks the Goods Issue. If someone tries to ship a rejected item anyway, the system stops them immediately with a clear error message.

The Result

There wont be any accidental shipping of bad materials, and a much faster workflow for the warehouse team.
